Understanding Who God Is

One of life’s greatest pursuits is that
of discovering who God is and how that
discovery affects our lives. As we begin to
discover who God is in all of His glory and
majesty, it enables us to come into a deeper
understanding and revelation that enhances
our relationship with Him as our creator.
This is what gives us Faith Towards God.
Without faith, we cannot begin to please
God.
Hebrews 11:6 But without
faith it is impossible to please Him, for he
who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who
diligently seek Him.
Psalms 145:3
(NLT) Great is the LORD! He is most worthy
of praise! His greatness is beyond
discovery!
As we begin to
discover who God is in all of His glory, it
allows us to experience His wonderful
attributes coming alive in our hearts,
resulting in a greater level of intimacy
with Him. We are able to see with the eyes
of our understanding the wonders He has
prepared us as we partake of all that He has
for each of us on this great journey.
In order to begin to get a glimpse into
God’s greatness, we must begin to see Him as
He views Himself. Instead of allowing our
lives to be conformed to our limited view of
who we think God to be, we must humble
ourselves and see Him as He has revealed
Himself to us through Scripture and the
revelation of His Spirit. His ways and
thoughts are so much higher than our ways.
As we begin to see God as He sees Himself,
it births faith towards God in our spirits.
Hebrews 8:11 (NLT) And they will not
need to teach their neighbors, nor will they
need to teach their family, saying, 'You
should know the Lord.' For everyone, from
the least to the greatest, will already know
me.
One of God’s greatest
desires towards us as His people is for us
to know Him as He has been revealed
throughout the Scriptures, culminating in
the ultimate revelation of Himself in His
son, Jesus Christ.
